Description: The Marketing and Public Relations Manager for Cooperative Extension at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will develop and lead the implementation of a strategic, comprehensive marketing and communication plan that aligns with the University, College and organization's vison and mission. The Marketing and Public Relations Manager will report directly to the Associate Dean and Extension Administrator. The primary goals of all communications strategies are to increase the visibility of Cooperative Extension at A&T while also promoting our educational programs across all 100 counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian (EBCI) Nation. The Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for Cooperative Extension's communications efforts and collaborate with members of the University and College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES) public relations and communications teams. The Manager will also work collaboratively with the Director of Marketing and Communications at NC State Extension on matters relating to our joint partnership—North Carolina Cooperative Extension as a way to build the partnership brand. Primary Function of Organizational Unit: Cooperative Extension at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is the University's flagship educational outreach organization housed within the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES). Cooperative Extension at A&T provides researched-based educational information, programming and technical assistance to limited-resource audiences that address a diverse range of issues in four programmatic areas – Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, Community and Rural Development, and 4-H Youth Development. Together with its partners – North Carolina State University Cooperative Extension Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, state and county governments, a dynamic and resourceful system is formed. In addition to campus operations, Cooperative Extension has professionally staffed offices in almost half of the 100 counties in North Carolina and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
