The University Photographer supports the Office of the Chancellor/Office of University Relations to position North Carolina A&T State University as a leader in higher education by increasing public awareness of the university and its academic programs, research and other strategic initiatives by publicizing its accomplishments and resources to a wide array of internal and external audiences.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The Office of University Relations is administered under the Office of the Chancellor of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (N.C. A&T). University Relations is the central communications office for N.C. A&T that is responsible for marketing, branding, crisis communications, media relations and other major elements of identification and communications for the university. The office works with academic and administrative units across the university to promote news, information and events that align with the institution's strategic priorities and brand positioning. N.C. A&T is one of America's most highly respected universities, focused on interdisciplinary research, creative scholarship, exemplary undergraduate and graduate instruction, and community service and engagement.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of visual/graphic arts experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in photography, fine arts, videography, communications, journalism or related field, with expertise in still photography, commercial photography, photojournalism, studio photography, videography and/or digital editing a plus; or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
Minimum of five years of professional experience (excluding internships and apprenticeships) in photography is required.
Must present portfolio with samples exhibiting digital, web and print projects. Portfolio demonstrates solid conceptual skills and knowledge of photography, composition and storytelling.

Strong proficiency in the use of industry standard image and editing software is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required.
Experience with digital assets management systems and techniques; working knowledge of formatting images and videos for the web and social media.
