As the Director of Public Relations and Media, you will report to the President of SCL Health Foundations/SVP Marketing & Communications and manage our front range, western Colorado and MT relationships. As you direct the strategy and design of public messages that positively reflect the image of SCL Health, you’ll be responsible to ensure SCL Health’s external brand content is consistent, well timed, and newsworthy. Additionally, you’ll work directly with the Media to proactively pitch, respond and position SCL Health.
Specific responsibilities also include:
Establishes, manages and proactively develops media relationships, arranges interviews, crafts public statements, handles emergency communications, writes talking points for executives to address media concerns and creates press kits.
Responds to media inquiries by gathering information and referring the media to appropriate resources.
Serves as an advisor to Executives within SCL Health on public communications matters. Provides strategies for dealing with difficult issues publicly and for garnering positive press attention.
Pitches stories to local, regional, national and industry media outlets to position SCL Health as a leader in our industry.
Drives opportunities for thought leadership for our senior executives, including media stories, OpEds, conference attendance, panel participation, press conferences, etc.
Manages key award nominations for SCL Health and our leaders to drive system and executive visibility in the regions we operate
Supports advocacy work by developing and sharing information to inform legislators, the press and the general public about any potential impact of healthcare legislation on our communities and our efforts to reduce healthcare costs and increase access to care
Develops and publishes strategic white papers on important issues and subjects championed by SCL Health
Creates and manages system level speakers’ bureau to respond and offer thought leadership on healthcare topics on a regional and national level.
Works closely with JV partners to coordinate media activity when appropriate. Acts as the main PR representative for CHA and other industry PIO groups.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, marketing or related field
Minimum of seven (7) years of public relations experience
Proficiency in social medial platforms
Proficiency with standard productivity tools including G-Suite.
