Essential Functions: The successful candidate will teach courses in Interior Design and may teach in other areas of the department that connect to the candidate's research expertise. The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, conduct a program of creative and/or scholarly work, contribute to curriculum development and other aspects of the intellectual life of the department, and provide appropriate professional service. Perform other duties as assigned. A typical teaching load involves five courses per year. Qualifications: We are seeking an exceptional Interior Designer with a strong research practice and experience teaching Interior Design at the college level. A terminal degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture is required. Candidates should demonstrate ability to oversee curriculum development for an Interior Design concentration that lies within a Design degree. A research practice that addresses various aspects of design and social justice is also encouraged. The job is housed within an expansive department that includes Industrial Design, Graphic Design, and various Fine Arts concentrations; Candidates should demonstrate evidence of creative work consistent with expectations for a tenure-track position at a research university. Creative practice and scholarly works are to be demonstrated through publications, awards, exhibitions, grants, and/or other peer reviewed activities.
