INDIANA MEMORIAL UNION (BA-IMAU-IUBLA)

The Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) has been the heart of the Indiana University Bloomington campus for more than 100 years. Every day thousands of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests enjoy the many amenities and opportunities the IMU has to offer.

Union Boards Films, the country's longest-running college film series, has been screening films to the IU community since 1914. Films are shown at the Whittenberger Auditorium (located on the first floor of the Indiana Memorial Union) and at outdoor locations across campus and are free of charge to IU students.

• Covers everything from major university events, concerts and lectures, marketing campaign shoots, and many other Union Board programs.
• After capturing UB events, edits pictures and videos, finalizing them to the highest standards.
• Reports to a Union Board Advisor and Director of Marketing and works closely with various Marketing Leads, Directors, and other Multimedia Photographers. Members of Union Board Marketing participate in various meetings, critiques, and brainstorming sessions as necessary.
• Storyboards, edits, and creatively enhances videos into professional formats through collaboration with the Union Board Marketing team.
• Edits video footage in Adobe Premiere and graphics in Adobe AfterEffects.
• Collaborates with Marketing Leads and Directors to brainstorm project solutions.
• Photographs and/or records events and programs for Immediate use on social platforms and archiving.
• Photographs and/or records people, places, and scenes to enhance our collection of media to use for marketing campaigns.
• Edits and shares photo collections with Directors and the team in a timely manner, sometimes same-day edits for posting on social media and other platforms.
• Maintains structure of photo libraries to optimize search capabilities.

EDUCATION

• Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University

SKILLS

Required

• Creative eye and a flexible schedule, willing to work some evenings and weekends.
• A solid understanding of DSLR cameras, lighting, and gathering audio
• Experience editing videos with Adobe Premiere
• Experience creating interactive graphics with Adobe After Effects
• Experience editing photos with Adobe Photoshop, Camera Raw, and Photo Mechanic
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to cover some evening and weekend events as well as maintaining some office hours
• Fine attention to detail
• Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, and respect for others
• Exceptional decision-making skills and autonomy
• Exceptional written and communication skills
• Performs well in a team-oriented, collaborative atmosphere
• Strong sense of curiosity and creativity

Preferred

• Desire to improve constantly and learn more about photography
• Lengthy experience photographing events in all shooting environments
• Experience with video, video editing, and digital image editing
• Comfortable directing others, including full-time staff and management
• Understanding of effective marketing tactics
