The University of Southern Californiaâs Annenberg School of Journalism seeks applicants for a Professor of Professional Practice in Public Relations faculty appointment. We seek a dynamic, forward-looking public relations professional who will join our faculty to help support our undergraduate and graduate public relations programs. USC Annenberg Public Relations and Advertising programs prepare graduates to lead in a world where every brand, organization and individual today can communicate with audiences across a diverse and changing array of platforms/channels and an imperative to reach those audiences with their story. Located at the intersection of technology, media and communication, Annenberg is transforming the practice of public relations by training the next generation of communicators using a highly applied, hands-on learning model.
Candidates should have a deep understanding of current trends in the field of public relations, its related disciplines of strategic communication, marketing and advertising and a fluency in contemporary skills such as content strategy and marketing, media relations, data analytics, and crisis management.
Candidates should demonstrate an aptitude for academic program leadership, including supporting curriculum development, program evaluation and industry partnerships. Candidates should possess a strong commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive environment for faculty, staff, and students.
Outstanding candidates will possess professional expertise relevant to the development, implementation, and evolution of our public relations curriculum. Candidates will be expected to support these ongoing curricular initiatives while supporting the development of industry-facing collaborative coâcurricular learning experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:⯠Masterâs degree in Public Relations (or related field) is preferred. Bachelorâs degree (coupled with longer professional career/experience) is acceptable.Â

The annual base salary range in this postion is $140,000 - $180,000.
