About the Department:
University Life Marketing and Communications (UL MarCom) proactively supports the units of University Life in achieving their mission to help every student succeed by facilitating outreach to the Mason community in an authentic, clear, and organized manner while providing insight into the behavior, interests, and needs of a diverse student population through research and data analysis.
About the Position:
The Photographer will work as part of a team comprised of marketing and communications professionals and reports to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications within UL Marketing and Communications.
Responsibilities:
Capture and edit high-quality photography deliverables for University Life events/campaigns/programming/etc.;
Capture and edit images and other photo content for university communications channels; and
The Photographer position is designed for 10 - 20 hours per week. At times, the work may require extended hours and/or night and weekend work hours.
Required Qualifications:
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Bridge/Lightroom);
Experience with operating a DSLR camera;
Experience with photography editing techniques and software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Lightroom, Camera Raw, etc.;
Knowledge of CMYK, RGB, and PMS color grids;
Demonstrated skills in the following areas: oral and written communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal;
Ability to accurately and efficiently meet deadlines for responsibilities;
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and ability to work within diverse populations; ability to work in a team-oriented environment; and
Must be able to provide a portfolio or samples (online).
