The Department of Interior Design at the College of Design at Iowa State University (ISU) invites applications for the position of Lecturer in the area of Interior Design Education and Practice. The appointment is anticipated to begin on January 1st, 2025 and will be for one semester (January 1, 2025 May 15, 2025).
The department seeks candidates with academic or professional experience in Interior Design Studio education. The position will entail teaching in either the Bachelor or Master of Interior Design, CIDA-accredited programs.
The candidate is expected to establish a record of scholarship at the highest levels and contribute to the teaching missions at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates should have strong communication skills, share our commitment to enhancing excellence, and exhibit the potential for long-term leadership in supporting the mission of the department, college, and university.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in interior design or related fields, OR
Bachelors degree + 5 years of relevant industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise in the following curriculum areas: universal design, human factors, professional procedures and practice, materials, and specifications.
Proficiency in drafting and use of digital tools.
Professional NCIDQ Licensein the US or abroad.
LEED Accredited Professional.

The Department of Interior Design is a vibrant program in the College of Design at Iowa State University, along with Architecture, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Art and Visual Culture, Landscape Architecture, and Community and Regional Planning. The Department of Interior Design is a CIDA-accredited program that offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design (BFA), a Master of Arts in Interior Design (MA), a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design (MFA), and an interdisciplinary double degree with the Department of Architecture (MA-MArch).
