Description
Provide Ophthalmic and general imaging and audio-visual services to the Doheny Eye Medical Group and the Doheny Eye Institute and Doheny Affiliated Satellites. The Principal Photographer performs advanced ophthalmic imaging procedures and provides direct patient care to support the diagnosis and documentation of ocular diseases and pathologic conditions. This role is responsible for producing high‑quality clinical, research, and educational photography; preparing imaging results for physician review; supporting audiovisual needs for departmental events; and maintaining proficiency in all imaging systems and related equipment. The Ophthalmic Photographer also ensures compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards, maintains confidentiality, and participates in ongoing education and emerging ophthalmic imaging technologies.
This position requires the ability to travel to multiple UCLA Health locations.
Salary Range: $38.57-46.45 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum 5 years of related experience in ophthalmic photography.
Certified by clinical trial reading centers (may include but are not limited to Doheny Image Reading Center(DIRC), Digital Angiography Reading Center(DARC), and Wisconsin Reading Center(WRC) in OCT, fundus photography, and fluorescein angiography, or ability to become certified within 4 months from date of hire is required.
Knowledge of ophthalmic photography and darkroom skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to interpret policies and procedures and to apply standards consistently.
Possess interpersonal skills that support and maintain professional relationships with members of the health care team.
Able to travel and provide imaging service and support to satellite clinics several days per week.
